Paul H. Ethridge
Paul H. Ethridge has practiced law in Maryland since 1973 and in the District of
Columbia since 1976. He has held an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell for more
than two decades. Having served three separate terms on the Board of Governors
of the Maryland State Bar Association, Mr. Ethridge also had the privilege of
sitting on the Maryland State Bar Association Board of Governors' Executive
Committee for two terms as well. He is the chairman of the Maryland State Bar
Association Committee on Rules of Practice and liaison with the Rules Committee.
He is also a member of the Maryland State Bar Association Committee on Laws.Paul was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, having the distinction of being chosen in this select membership as one of the less than one percent of all trial lawyers in the nation. Paul was elected to the Maryland Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He currently serves on the Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission Peer Review Committee and is a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation. As a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, he served on the Executive Committee from 1985-1995, and presently serves on the Nominations and Elections Committee.
Mr. Ethridge is admitted to the Bars of the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, as well as the Maryland Court of Appeals and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
Mr. Ethridge served on the Governor's Trial Court Nominating Commission from 1998 to 2002 and on the Litigation Section Council of the Maryland State Bar. Currently he is on the Governor's Appellate Nominating Commission. He is a frequent lecturer for Montgomery County, State, and National CLE programs. He has sat on numerous Montgomery County Bar Association Committees, including the Judicial Selections Committee, the Insurance Committee and the Administration of Justice Committee.
Mr. Ethridge's experience includes hundreds of trials involving business disputes, medical malpractice, product liability, personal injury matters, insurance coverage disputes and legal malpractice. Currently, he serves as a Special Mediator and Special Master to the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland. He is part of a group of Maryland's leading attorneys, mediators and arbitrators that formed ADR Maryland, a non-profit service that offers an alternative process for effective dispute resolution.
Paul is proud to have served on the governing body of the Montgomery County Special Olympics. He presently volunteers at The Lords Table kitchen, and has actively been involved in his church and other outreach community activities.
